1Plus1Plus1 Art Show Closing Party (Event Production by ChevonMedia)
White Rabbit, hosted the closing reception for the 1Plus1Plus1 art show featuring works by artists TTK, Klashwon, and Sam Woolley. A good amount of the artwork was hip hop themed and/or had references to the 80′s. DJs Large Professor, Nina Azucar and Mirandom killed it on the turntables while people danced, purchased art and merchandise. See you at my next event! -Chevon
The artist TTK gives a thumbs up as he shows off his painting of Raekwon, pictured signing the canvas. TTK is often commissioned for portraiture. For a price estimate for a portrait of you or your family, contact us at ArtByTTK@gmail.com
Jam Master Jay’s Son, TJ Mizell, Guest DJs on an EVR Special, Friday at 10am ET
TJ Mizell is a producer and DJ based out of NYC with the majority of his musical influence coming from his father, the legendary Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. He spins at various special events, fashion shows and nightclubs in the city and around the world while maintaining an authenticity with seamless blends and precise cuts playing Hip-Hop, Dubstep and everything in between. Mizell is one of the instructors at the famous Scratch DJ Academy which JMJ helped start in 2002.
TJ recently contributed music to the 1Plus1Plus1 art show, held at the Lower East Side space White Rabbit.
The exhibition’s big closing party is this Sunday, April 28th from 5pm-9pm at White Rabbit on 145 E Houston Street in Manhattan.
The art show features Brooklyn-based artists KlashWon, underbelly explorer Sam Woolley and TTK a jaunty, curatorial force whose surreal, colorful paintings bend reality to the will of an active imagination.
You can check out more here, and for a truly unique audio experience, listen live to EVR this Friday, April 26 beginning at 10am ET as TJ Mizell will be live in studio to talk about this project before he lays down an exclusive guest DJ set.
“White Rabbit, hosted the opening reception for the 1Plus1Plus1 art show featuring works by artists TTK, Klashwon, and Sam Woolley. A good amount of the artwork was hip hop themed and/or had references to the 80′s. Some surprise guests appearances at the art show opening ceremony included Big Daddy Kane,Large Professor and Meyhem Lauren.
DJ TJ Mizell [son of Run DMC’s own Jam Master Jay] played nostalgic music from the 80′s and 90′s to create an overall nice balance of retro themed art and music. You can catch TJ live on Beatminerz Radio this week, spinning a popup DJ set in honor of the continuing art show, and spilling the beans on what went on behind scenes at the opening.
If you are a visitor or a resident of NYC, you will appreciate everything this exhibit is about. It definitely represents NYC culture. The pieces will be on view at White Rabbit, 145 E. Houston Street until April 30th. Check out the pics below [courtesy of Kenny Rodriguez and 12 Oz Prophet’s Steven Lau].”
